Photo Archives Actualités You are a student, you are between 20 and 35 years old, you are ready to share your knowledge, your culture and your language with young French people. You also want to compare different teaching methods and immerse yourself in a new culture : become an assistant in France ! Your mission can consist in : training the students’ oral skills ; participating in various school activities or the organisation of an exchange project ; increasing the audio collection of the school’s documentation centre ; giving personnal help to the students ; or participating to the language club. You can be posted to different levels, according to the needs : In elementary schools (children from 6 to 10 years old), in collège (11 to 15 years old) in lycée (15 to 18 years old), or in IUFM, training teachers institutes (from 22 years old). Your nomination is from the 1st of October to the 30th of April. You have 12 hours of teaching a week, which can be done in one or several schools. You will enjoy the same school holidays as your students and colleagues, that is : one week in November, 2 weeks for Christmas, 2 weeks in February and 2 weeks around Easter time. Salary In 2001, the monthly salary was 891,83 euros (gross, social security non included).  Net salary was about 731,76 euros.
